The
Healing Process The healing process is often a mysterious journey that
goes far beyond therapies and techniques aimed at alleviating
symptoms.
- Why do we get sick?
- Why do we have car accidents?
- What is our body trying to tell us?
- What are the relationships in our life?
Craniosacral
acupuncture provides a medium for the body and soul to begin
to tell its story. As we unwind the restrictions located
in the fascia and needle area's of deficiency and stagnation
within the meridians we also become aware of the connections
between our thoughts, our emotions and our body. As awareness
develops often our physical symptoms begin to change.
Craniosacral
Acupuncture A
session in craniosacral acupuncture usually lasts 60-90
minutes and combines acupuncture with hands-on bodywork.
I begin the session by assessing the overall symmetry of
the cranial wave, I will palpate your pulse and inspect
your tongue. Once I have an idea where the main restrictions
are, acupuncture needles are then inserted into the relevant
points. Needles remain in place for 20-30 minutes, during
this time I will adjust your craniosacral system, releasing
the tissues of the pelvis, the diaphragm, the neck area
and the base of the skull.
Lastly the cranial bones are adjusted using extremely
light pressure.
What
do people usually experience
with Craniosacral Acupuncture?
Often
my clients feel extreme relaxation and some fall asleep.
As we unwind the fascial restrictions, you may feel a swirling
sensation, like you are floating in water. As acupuncture
points are stimulated you may feel a tingling, warmth and
relaxation of your limbs.
Craniosacral
Acupuncture allows the mind to let go and sink into the
quieter, deeper parts of yourself, this is where the healing
dialogue can begin.
What Results Can I Expect?
The number of treatments required depend on the severity
and duration of your condition - within 6 treatments we
should begin to see some good change and at that stage we
can assess how long the process might take.
An improvement in your condition always goes hand in hand
with change you make in your diet, lifestyle and your relationship
to stress.
The most important thing I ask of my clients is to bring
their awareness to their body both during and in-between
our sessions. |
