Filmmaking, an art show by Linda
Lane in collaboration with Wonderlane, is based on the making
of Karl Krogstad’s film “Great
Uncle Jimmy” in 2001. A clip from this film was shown at Seattle Art Museum
in December of that year.
For the film, Wonderlane’ team members created a live action digital
storyboard, and provided stunt models, extras and actors. We also designed
and constructed sets and backgrounds. Our artists painted fine art featured
in the film.
This show is derived from that filmmaking experience and was created at
Wonderlane here in Seattle. Because KK takes delight in the experience
of making films these images were chosen based on the activities of filmmaking,
such as moving the sets, or getting ready for a stunt, not on the actual
film itself.
The controversial Krogstad is recognized as the premier independent avant-garde
filmmaker in the Northwest with more than 50 films to his credit. KK’s
gregarious charismatic personality fosters the independent creativity
of all who work with him. His filmmaking methods encourage local talent
to develop successful careers in filmmaking.
Wonderlane is an association of creative talent led by Linda Lane. Raised
in Alaska, Linda graduated from Cornish Institute of Fine Art. Her work
is in private collections throughout the world and appear in the Anchorage
Historical and Fine Art Museum. Lane consults in the software and Web
development industry.
