Skills & Abilities

Summary

Linda Lane works in high tech as a product and program manager, UI designer / Information Architect, consulting with firms such as Microsoft, Amazon, RealNetworks, Intel, SAP, etc. Her current focus is to infuse life into business user interface design. On the Web and with software applications this means designing clean, beautiful, playful, fun, easy to use websites and applications with a community focus.

Lane was born in Seattle and raised in Alaska - giving her the best of both worlds. She returned to Seattle to attend the University of Washington, after which she worked at Microsoft for 4 years -- just before Microsoft Windows 3.0 launched. Currently she is a Master's candidate studying in two programs - Masters of Science in Information Management at the UW iSchool, and the User-Centered Design Certification program in Technical Communications. Her undergrad degree is in Fine Art from Cornish College of the Fine Arts, also in Seattle, Washington, USA.

Lane is a world traveler who delights in recording the world through photography and videography. In her spare time (like we all have any of that!) she paints paintings, creates digital art, helps people design and decorate interiors, studies fashion, history, the future, and writes a blog combining her many interests and love of human endeavor.
